Types of Accommodation
 
Accommodation — [əˌkɒməˈdeɪʃən] — A place where people stay temporarily, such as a hotel, apartment, or other types of lodging, especially while on vacation or business trips; izmitināšana

Example: We booked our accommodation near the city center so that we could easily access restaurants and attractions.
 
Hotel — [həʊˈtɛl] — A place offering rooms, food, and other services for travelers; viesnīca

Example:  We stayed at a beautiful hotel by the beach for our vacation.
 
 
Hostel —  [ˈhɒstəl]  — A budget accommodation where guests often share rooms and facilities; hostelis

Example:  The hostel was very cheap, and I met many travelers there.
 
 
Motel — [ˈməʊtɛl] — A roadside hotel with parking, often used for short stays; motelis

Example:  We stopped at a motel for the night on our road trip.
 
Resort — [rɪˈzɔːt] — A luxury hotel with extra facilities like pools, spas, and activities; kūrorts

Example:  The resort had a private beach and offered many activities for families.
 
Bed and Breakfast (B&B) — [bɛd ənd ˈbrɛkfəst] — A small, often family-run accommodation that provides a place to sleep and a homemade breakfast in the morning; „gulta un brokastis”, viesnīca kur cenā ir iekļauta dzīvošana un brokastis.
 
Example:  We enjoyed staying at a cozy bed and breakfast with homemade meals.
 
Villa — [ˈvɪlə] — A large, private house available for rent, often in tourist areas; vila
Example:  We rented a villa with a stunning view of the countryside.
 
 
Lodge — [lɒdʒ] — Accommodation near nature, like a mountain or ski lodge; naktsmītne pie dabas

Example:  The ski lodge was perfect for our winter vacation in the mountains.
Types of Rooms
 
Single room — [ˈsɪŋɡəl ruːm] — A room for one person with one bed; vienvietīgs numurs
Example:  I booked a single room since I was traveling alone.
 
Double room — [ˈdʌbl ruːm] — A room for two people with one double bed; divvietīgs numurs ar vienu gultu

Example:  Can we have a double room with a sea view, please?

Twin room — [twɪn ruːm] — A room with two single beds; divvietīgs numurs ar divām gultām
Example:  The twin room was comfortable and had a nice bathroom.

Family room — [ˈfæmɪli ruːm] — A room with extra space or beds, suitable for families; ģimenes numurs
Example:  The family room had enough space for us and our kids.

Connecting rooms — [kəˈnɛktɪŋ ruːmz] — Two rooms connected by a door, ideal for families; numuri, savienotie ar durvīm
Example:  We asked for connecting rooms so our children could stay close by.

Suite — [swiːt] — A large, luxurious room, often with a living area; luksusa numurs

Example:  We stayed in a suite with a beautiful view for our anniversary.
