Tom’s Broken Arm

Tom was playing football with his friends on Saturday afternoon. The weather was sunny, and the boys were very excited. During the game, Tom ran very fast to kick the ball, but he slipped and fell on the ground. He landed on his arm and felt strong pain. His friend quickly asked, “What’s wrong?” Tom said, “I think I’ve broken my arm.”

The boys helped Tom and took him to the hospital. The doctor looked at the arm, touched it carefully, and then sent him for an X-ray. After a few minutes, the doctor said, “Yes, it is a broken arm. You must wear a plaster cast for six weeks.” Tom felt very upset because he could not play football or ride his bike for a long time.

At home, his family said, “Get well soon!” His mother told him to be careful, and his father helped him with his homework. Tom spent his days watching TV, reading books, and sometimes playing games on the computer. He missed football very much.

After a few weeks, Tom went back to the hospital. The doctor checked his arm again and said, “You are getting better. Soon your arm will be strong.” Tom was very happy and promised, “When I play football again, I will be more careful.”
